15 mm PYROTECHNIC CARTRIDGE INSTRUCTIONS

To be used with 15 mm pyrotechnic launchers only. Use with 6 mm (.22 cal.) or 9 mm (.38 cal) crimped blank cartridge. To be used in accordance with the operating and safety instructions as provided with the launcher. Read the instructions for use printed on the 15 mm pyrotechnic cartridge packaging before using. Insert 15 mm pyrotechnical cartridge into the end of the launcher muzzle. Item #1010 bangers are inserted with the black or powder end in toward the launcher. Item #1011 screamers and #1012 flaming whistlers are inserted with the hollow end in toward the launcher. Fire at a 45? angle above the ground. Pyrotechnic cartridges are to be sold and stored in original manufacturers’ packaging only. Store in secure, cool, dry place to prevent product degradation, which could result in product failure. For areas of high humidity and no available climate controlled storage, use silica gel sacks in storage cabinets.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL
• Only mature, responsible adults who have a clear understanding and working knowledge of pyrotechnical scare cartridges and launchers should use these cartridges.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• This product is not to be sold to persons under the age of 18 years.
• Keep away from sources of heat to prevent product degradation, which could result in product failure.
• 15 mm pyrotechnic cartridges are sold for the expressed purpose of wildlife management and control.
• Always wear a hardhat, eye, and ear protection when using this product.
• Do not fire at humans, animals, buildings, and dry fields or at any flammable materials or liquids.
• Never load in or fire pyrotechnic cartridges from a vehicle or vessel.
• Operator must only fire these cartridges in an area clear of all personnel. Personnel should be a minimum of 5 metres behind the operator.
• Modifications to these products must not be made.

TRANSPORTATION
• Transportation of cartridges should be in a closed container away from any source of ignition.
• Never transport launcher with crimped blanks or pyrotechnical cartridges inserted.


MISFIRE PROCEDURES
• Immediately drop launcher and cartridge to the ground.
• Step away (minimum 10 metres) for 30 minutes.
• After 30 minutes, submerse misfired cartridge in water for 48 hours. Do not use bare hands to pick up cartridge. Wear gloves and use long tongs, shovel or similar device to handle cartridge.
• Dispose by burying in a suitable location.
