ALARM SYSTEM INSTRUCTIONS
Alarm control and battery should be placed in a tent or under cover. The siren should be outside the tent and placed three to five feet above the ground to project sound. Use 12" spike to make pilot holes for 11/16" fiberglass posts. Drive 11/16" posts (trees, posts, etc. may be used also) around area to be enclosed and run the trip wire from post to post through wire hangers (SnapMax clips). Wire height should be 10 to 18 inches off the ground. One or two strands of wire may be used. Flag the wire with surveyors tape to prevent accidental activation of the system. Connect the thin gauge black wire (#5 & #6 on control unit) to each end of the trip wire. Perimeter wire must have a beginning and end for the system to function (see diagram).
After hook-up, test the control unit. Hold down the test button until the armed light flashes and then release. Alarm should be activated. To reset, turn black switch off and then on again. The trip wire is equipped with a 2 second delay from the time the wire is tripped (broken) until the alarm goes off. The alarm will sound after the light flashes the first time after being triggered. This is to reduce the chance of false triggering due to older, corroded wire. The alarm also has a battery save on/off feature. When the unit is triggered, the alarm will cycle through 2 times of being on for approximately 8 seconds, and off for 2 seconds. It will then cycle on for 2 seconds and off for 8 seconds until the wire and alarm are reset. See diagram for connection instructions.
